Best Hypercar in CSR2? Why Bugatti and Koenigsegg Aren't Top
CSR2 MODS · October 26, 2026
In the real world, Bugatti, Koenigsegg, SSC and Hennessey have spent two decades fighting over the title of fastest car on earth. Some older CSR2 tier lists still put the Bugatti Bolide and the Koenigsegg Jesko at the very top of Tier 5. So you'd expect the best hypercar in CSR2 to be the best car, full stop.
They don't. We pulled every record from the five classic hypercar brands out of our CSR2 world records sheet: Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Pagani, SSC and Hennessey. That's 101 Tier 5 records. Not one of them makes the top 30.
The best hypercar in CSR2, brand by brand
| Brand | Tier 5 records | Fastest car | Its rank | Typical rank |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SSC | 6 | Tuatara Striker | 35th | 187th |
| Bugatti | 38 | Tourbillon Show Car 2026 | 55th | 399th |
| Koenigsegg | 16 | Gemera | 61st | 298th |
| Pagani | 28 | Huayra R Evo Roadster | 79th | 357th |
| Hennessey | 13 | Venom F5 Roadster | 99th | 286th |
Ranks are out of 890 timed Tier 5 cars, from our sheet at the time of writing. “Typical” is the median.
The best of them, the SSC Tuatara Striker, is 35th. Bugatti, the brand with the most hypercar records, doesn't get a car into the top 50 at all. Together, the five brands have one car in the top 50 and 13 in the top 100.
That doesn't make them bad. The typical hypercar ranks 359th, comfortably ahead of the tier's middle at about 446th. They're good cars. They're just not the best cars.
The famous names
| Car | Best record | Tier 5 rank |
|---|---|---|
| Bugatti Bolide | 6.797 | 108 |
| Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut | 6.807 | 112 |
| Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300 | 6.834 | 126 |
| Pagani Zonda (best version, Cinque) | 7.147 | 335 |
| Koenigsegg Regera (best version) | 7.181 | 364 |
| Bugatti Divo | 7.342 | 439 |
| Koenigsegg Agera RS | 7.413 | 474 |
| Bugatti Veyron (best version, Super Sport WRE) | 7.542 | 539 |
The Bolide and Jesko Absolut are respectable at around 110th, but a long way from the top. The Veyron, the car that started the modern hypercar race in the real world, has six records in CSR2 and the best is 539th. The newest Bugattis do better than the famous ones: the Tourbillon and the W16 Mistral, with three of its four versions between 64th and 68th, are the brand's best cars in the game.
Newer hypercars rank higher
Within each brand there's a clear pattern: the newest models hold the best records, and the legends from the 2000s and 2010s trail well behind.
| Brand | Model | Tier 5 records | Best rank |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bugatti | Tourbillon | 1 | 55th |
| W16 Mistral | 4 | 64th | |
| Chiron | 13 | 126th | |
| Veyron | 6 | 539th | |
| Koenigsegg | Gemera and CC850 | 4 | 61st |
| Jesko | 4 | 112th | |
| Agera | 3 | 474th | |
| Pagani | Huayra | 12 | 79th |
| Utopia | 4 | 87th | |
| Zonda | 9 | 335th |
The Veyron's best record is nearly 500 places behind the Tourbillon's. The Zonda, Pagani's first car, ranks about 250 places below the Huayra and Utopia. If you want a hypercar that can race, pick the newest model the brand offers rather than the most famous one. The same goes for the Chiron: of its 13 Tier 5 records, the best is the Super Sport 300 at 126th, and most versions rank lower.
What beats them
So who is ahead? These are the kinds of car that fill the 30 fastest Tier 5 records:
- Movie cars: all three Back to the Future Time Machines, including the fastest record of all.
- Custom builds: Ringbrothers, Classic Car Studio, Hoonigan, Ruffian and DuSold creations, mostly American. Our look at American muscle in CSR2 covers them.
- Race cars: the Lamborghini SC63, Porsche 963 and Ford GT MkIV.
- Small specialist makers: Apollo, Zenvo, Devel, De Tomaso and Czinger.
- Electric cars: the Rimac Nevera R and McMurtry Spéirling. Our electric cars analysis has the full picture.
- And a truck: Honda's Hoonigan Indy Truck, second fastest in the whole tier.
What they have in common isn't top speed. CSR2 races are short sprints, and a car's record depends on how it launches, how its gearing suits the distance, and how well it responds to a tune. A real-world 300mph top speed doesn't help when the race is over long before you'd get near it.
Purple stars and the driver
About three quarters of the hypercar records on the sheet are purple-star cars. Where a hypercar appears in both versions, purple is faster on 14 of 15, by a typical 0.05 seconds, the same as across the whole game. The exception is the Bugatti Divo, where the gold record is slightly quicker. The biggest gap belongs to the Koenigsegg Gemera: its purple record is 0.21 seconds faster than its gold one, one of the largest purple advantages on the entire sheet. If you want a Gemera, get the purple one.
The driver matters less in these cars than in most. Across Tier 5, record holders typically beat a car's dyno time by about a tenth of a second. In the hypercars, the typical gain is under half that, about 0.05 seconds. Your race times in a hypercar should sit close to its dyno time, so most of the improvement has to come from the build and the tune rather than your launch.
The Chiron's ceiling
One more detail stands out. Record holders beat their car's dyno time on almost every car in the game, usually by a tenth or more. Both Chiron Super Sport records are among the rare exceptions: the record is slightly slower than the dyno, by a few thousandths. For those cars, nobody has found time beyond what the dyno already shows. We looked at this gap across every car in CSR2 perfect launch and shifting.
The best hypercar from each brand
- SSC: the Tuatara Striker (35th), with the Ultimate Aero TT at 71st. SSC also has the best typical rank of the five, about 187th.
- Bugatti: the Tourbillon Show Car (55th) or the W16 Mistral (64th to 68th). Skip the Veyron and Divo if you're racing for records.
- Koenigsegg: the Gemera (61st) and the CC850 (65th), both ahead of the Jesko Absolut (112th).
- Pagani: the Huayra R Evo Roadster (79th) and the Utopia ‘Carbon Edition’ (87th).
- Hennessey: the Venom F5 Roadster (99th).
Should you build a hypercar?
- For the top of Tier 5: look elsewhere. Our best cars by tier list and the fastest car from every brand ranking show who leads.
- For a reliably quick car you love: the newer hypercars are a safe bet. Most of the brands' best cars sit inside the top 100.
- Pick the version carefully. Within one brand the spread is huge: Bugatti's records run from 55th to well below 500th.
- Purple or gold? The usual small purple advantage applies. See purple star vs gold star.

Top speed isn't the point
The hypercar brands that own real-world speed records don't own CSR2. Of 101 Tier 5 records from Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Pagani, SSC and Hennessey, none makes the top 30; the best is the SSC Tuatara Striker at 35th. They're comfortably above average, but the very top belongs to race cars, custom builds, a movie car and a truck. Choose a hypercar because you love it, and check its record before you expect it to win.
