CSR2 Legends: Restoration, Revival and How Each Legend Ranks

CSR2 MODS · October 31, 2026

Legends is the slow, satisfying corner of CSR2: instead of buying a car and upgrading it, you restore a classic from the ground up before it can race. It's a long project, and the records suggest it's worth finishing. Restored Legends sit at the very top of the lower tiers on our CSR2 world records sheet.

How Legends works

Legends added a collection of 15 classic and modern icons that have to be restored before you can properly use them. Restoring the collection leads to the goal car, the McLaren F1.

Restoration runs on parts earned from dedicated Legends events and trials, alongside the Stage 6 and fusion parts the cars also need. Community guides from players who've completed it agree on a few rules:

  • Restore completely first. A Legend has to be fully restored before you can do much with it, tuning included.
  • Never sell or strip an unrestored Legend. You lose the progress.
  • One car at a time. Daily trial parts are tied to the car you're restoring, so working on one keeps every part useful.
  • Lower tiers first. Start with the Tier 2 cars and work up through Tiers 3 and 4.
  • Fit Stage 6 as you get it. Holding parts back only slows the restoration down.

How fast each Legend is

Here are the Legends cars on our records sheet, with each one's best rank in its tier.

LegendTierRank
Ford Mustang Boss 30211st of 16
Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupé21st of 32
Ferrari 250 GTO22nd of 32
Aston Martin DB529th of 32
Pontiac GTO ‘The Judge’36th of 81
Chevrolet Corvette (C3) ZR1311th of 81
Shelby Cobra 427 S/C341st of 81
Honda NSX-R43rd of 232
Lamborghini Countach LP 5000 QV440th of 232
Ford GT40 Mk24127th of 232
McLaren F15189th of 890
Saleen S7 Twin Turbo5279th of 890
Jaguar XJ2205510th of 890
Porsche Carrera GT5555th of 890
Bugatti EB110 SS5691st of 890

Best record per car at the time of writing, all at Elite Customs Level 50 except the GT40 Mk2 (Level 35).

The pattern is striking. In Tiers 1 and 2, Legends own the top of the table: the Boss 302 is the fastest car in Tier 1, and the 300 SL and 250 GTO are first and second in Tier 2. The Honda NSX-R is third in all of Tier 4. In Tier 5, against modern hypercars and custom builds, the original Legends fade into the pack, with the McLaren F1 the best of them at 189th.

Restoration isn't the finish line

Almost every Legend has two records on our sheet: one at Elite Customs Level 50 and one at Level 0. The difference is enormous.

LegendLevel 0 rankLevel 50 rank
Boss 30214th of 161st
300 SL Coupé8th of 321st
Pontiac GTO ‘The Judge’33rd of 816th
Honda NSX-R41st of 2323rd
McLaren F1375th of 890189th
Porsche Carrera GT872nd of 890555th

The Level 0 records were mostly set at lower star levels too, so Elite Customs isn't the only difference. But the message is clear: restoring a Legend gets it running, and Elite Customs is what turns it into a record car. A Level 0 Carrera GT is near the bottom of Tier 5. Our Elite Customs analysis shows how much each level adds across the whole game.

Legends Revival

Legends Revival, released in May 2025, expands the collection with six more cars to restore. To unlock it you must finish the original Legends collection and be on game version 5.7 or later; the Legends Garage then opens the Revival. The first two Revival cars are the Mustang Shelby GT350 and the Lamborghini Miura SV, and restoring all six earns the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe.

Revival cars are fast. On our sheet, at Elite Customs Level 36:

  • Mustang Shelby GT350: 4th of 890 in Tier 5.
  • Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe: 21st.
  • Lamborghini Miura SV: 58th.

That's a different league from the original Legends in Tier 5. The GT350 is one of the fastest cars in the game.

Pristine

The Revival also added Pristine, which raises how much cash and RP a restored Revival car earns per race. Each car has six Pristine levels, each activation lasts 14 days unless renewed, and activating or upgrading it costs restoration parts. Pristine doesn't change how the car looks, only what it pays, and at launch it applied to Revival cars only. Restore the car first, then activate Pristine, and renew it before it runs out.

Is it worth it?

If you race the lower tiers, absolutely: a finished Legend is the fastest car in Tier 1 or Tier 2. In Tier 5, the original Legends are collector's pieces rather than record cars, but the Revival cars are among the fastest in the game. Either way, budget for Elite Customs as well as the restoration itself.

Restoration is the slowest grind in CSR2. If you'd rather finish one sooner, our Legends restoration tokens are added to your own account, and Legends such as the Boss 302 and McLaren F1 are in our car collection. If you're weighing classics against modern cars, our best cars by tier list shows what else leads each tier.

The short version

Legends cars must be fully restored before they race: work on one at a time, never strip an unfinished one, and start in the lower tiers. Once restored and taken to Elite Customs Level 50, they're the fastest cars in Tier 1 and Tier 2, and the NSX-R is third in Tier 4. Legends Revival, unlocked by finishing the original collection, adds six faster cars and the Pristine reward system, and its Shelby GT350 is fourth in all of Tier 5.

Frequently asked questions

What is CSR2 Legends?

A separate part of the game where you restore 15 classic and modern icons before you can race them. Restoring the collection leads to the McLaren F1.

How do you unlock Legends Revival in CSR2?

Complete the original Legends collection and be on game version 5.7 or later. The Legends Garage then opens Legends Revival. It can't be skipped.

What is Pristine in CSR2?

A Legends Revival system that raises the cash and RP a restored Revival car earns per race. Each car has six Pristine levels, each activation lasts 14 days, and it doesn't change the car's looks.

Are Legends cars good in CSR2?

Once restored and upgraded through Elite Customs, very. On our records sheet, Legends hold first place in Tier 1 and the top two places in Tier 2, and the Revival's Shelby GT350 ranks fourth of 890 in Tier 5.

Should I restore several Legends at once?

Usually not. Players recommend one car at a time so the parts from daily trials match the car you're working on, and never selling or stripping a car before it's fully restored.
